APPLICATION PROCEDURES

 ***Application Postmark Deadline for the 2011-2012 class is February 15^th, 2011

Applicants must also register online at www.dnddigital.com for computer matching and select dietetic internship priority choices.  There is a $50 computer matching fee.  The D&D digital codes for Sodexo Mid-Atlantic Internship are:

Official Transcripts - Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended should be sent to:  DICAS - Transcript Department, PO Box 9118, Watertown, MA  02472.  Click here to view the Verification and Final Transcript Policy.  ***Please note that there is not a minimum GPA required to apply although previous successful candidates typically had GPA’s exceeding 3.0.

GRE’s - are not required when applying to Sodexo Internships.

ADA Verification Statement - or Declaration of Intent Statement for the Didactic Program in Dietetics completed and signed by your Didactic Program Director. It will be submitted online electronically directly from your DPD director.  See DICAS for more information.  (Original Verification Statement will be required prior to beginning program.)

Three Letters of Reference - When completing the application form, applicants must include the name and contact information (specifically an email address) for each reference.  This will trigger an email message requesting completion of a reference form.  The form will be completed online. 

Personal Statement - A personal statement is required to be submitted directly on the DICAS Site.  It is required to be 1,000 words or less and should include answers to the following questions:

• Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
• What are some experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career?
• What are your short-term and long-term goals?
• What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?

Application Fee – In addition to the DICAS application fee, an internship application fee should be sent by mail to the internship director.   Please send your non-refundable check or money order payable to: Sodexo.  Application fee is $50 to apply for one emphasis and $75 to apply for 2 or more emphases. Interviews- An interview with the Program Director is required.  Appointments for interviews are made following the receipt of the completed application packet and application fee and are initiated by the Internship Director.  Interviews will be granted to applicants who scored most favorably during the application evaluation process. 

Supplemental Materials  In addition to the standard personal statement above, we would like you to answer 2 additional questions.  These are to be uploaded to the supplemental materials section of DICAS.  Please keep your answers to no more than 2 pages total.
