Sodexo Distance Education Dietetic Internship

This is a unique DISTANCE EDUCATION based program, designed to meet the individual needs and interests of our students.  Students who have completed DPD requirements are eligible to participate in this program. Interns who successfully complete this internship are eligible to sit for the national registration examination to become a registered dietitian.

  • 40-50 students admitted each yearClass will be split into two sections of 20 interns each.  Each group will have separate orientations and class weeks.  Click here for orientation dates.

  • Practice sites at Sodexo accounts throughout the country, including 2 slots in Hawaii
  • Part time option
  • Students and the Internship Director work together to design an individualized program
  • Self-directed learning

  • A variety of innovative rotations
  • Learning experiences and communication through the computer. Access to a computer, e-mail, and the internet are required
  • Orientation and one week of classes held in a central location
  • Those who have completed supervised practice experiences (ie DTR or licensure) may be eligible to have all or part of their practice hours waived.  Read our Credit for Work Experience Policy for more details.

We participate in computer matching.  All applicants must also submit an application to D&D Digital, our matching company.  Applicants can apply online or download the forms and mail them to D&D Digital.  There is a $50 fee to participate in matching.  Go to www.dnddigital.com for more information. Deadline to submit mark/sense cards is February 16, 2010.

Our D&D Digital code is #237.  For those applying for the Hawaii sites only use code #228.  If you want to apply for both, you will need to list both codes.  When applying, please indicate which practice site(s) you are applying for so that we can include in the appropriate ranking.  Please send application to the New Boston, NH address.  If you are applying for both mainland and Hawaii slots, please submit by the February 1st deadline.  We encourage you to send your application early regardless of which slots you are applying for.

NOTE: Our next application deadline is February 16, 2010.

APPROVAL STATUS

The Sodexo Distance Education Dietetic Internship is currently granted Initial Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of The American Dietetic Association, 120 Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL    60606-6995, 312-899-4876.
